Awards and fellowships

The MCC has several awards and fellowships to recognize the achievements and contributions of various individuals and to assist research and development in the field of medical education and assessment.

Awards

Outstanding Achievement Award
  • Awarded to an individual who has made a significant and vital achievement in the field of assessment and evaluation of clinical and professional competence in the health professions. This award is unique as it recognizes a broad range of health disciplines.

Louis Levasseur Award

  • Presented to a Council, staff, or committee member, past or present, or to a person whose collaboration has contributed in an extraordinary manner to the mission and vision of the MCC. The recipient embodies an unwavering commitment to the objectives and principles of Council.

Fellowships

W. Dale Dauphinee Fellowship

  • Provided to an individual who holds a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) and who is a member of a Canadian faculty of medicine. The candidate is on leave to pursue further studies in assessment for medical education, certification, continuing professional competency or psychometrics, or to pursue a formal graduate program in education.

Postdoctoral Fellow Program

  • Available to Canadian medical schools interested in recruiting and mentoring a Postdoctoral Fellow. This fellowship is intended to provide new Ph.D. graduates in measurement, evaluation, medical education programs, or related programs, with practical experience before they embark on their full-time career.
