Required document statuses at PCRC

Once you have submitted your documents to the Physician Credentials Registry of Canada (PCRC), you should monitor their status through your PCRC-Online account (www.pcrc.org) to determine when you will be eligible to apply for the MCC Evaluating Examination (MCCEE). From your PCRC-Online account’s Main Menu, click on “View Report” and your Profile Summary will appear.

In order to be eligible to apply for the MCCEE, your documents must have a “positive” PCRC Review Status AND a “positive” Source Verification Status (where applicable). Please consult the table below for what is considered a “postitive” status.

"Positive" PCRC Document Statuses Required for Eligibility to Apply to the MCCEE
Documents in the Profile Summary PCRC Review Status – Must be: and Source Verification Status – Must be one of the following:
Medical Degree or Alternate(s) to Medical Degree – see Application Steps for more information Review Performed - Reviewed* and
  • Ready for Verification (minimum required verification status)
  • Verification in Progress
  • Verification Returned – Pass
Certified Identity Confirmation form OR
Declaration form
Review Performed - Reviewed   not applicable
Personal Identification (Identity) Document Review Performed - Reviewed   not applicable

If any of the above documents are NOT set to a “positive” PCRC Review Status OR Source Verification Status (where applicable), you are not yet eligible to apply for the MCCEE. If your documents have not received a “positive” status, it does not necessarily reflect an error on your part. In some cases, it simply means that PCRC has not yet received, recorded, and/or reviewed your documents.

*Note: Student applicants will not see any status for the Medical Degree given that, in their case, the medical degree field is only used to capture the expected graduation date and degree. Students are still eligible to apply for the MCCEE when there is no status displayed for the medical degree if the other documents are set to “Review Performed – Reviewed.”
