Self Administered Evaluating Examination

The Self Administered Evaluating Examination (SAEE) is a multiple-choice practice examination and is intended for graduates of international medical schools wishing to test their level of preparedness for the Medical Council of Canada's Evaluating Examination (MCCEE). The SAEE is offered over the Internet and consists of 96 questions from six medical disciplines: Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Population Health and Ethical Considerations, Psychiatry and Surgery. The SAEE is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with very few exceptions.

The SAEE does not cover all of the material that is covered in the MCCEE and therefore is not meant to take the place of the MCCEE. It is provided solely as a sample of the type and style of multiple-choice questions that may be found in the MCCEE and is intended to be a study aid to help participants prepare themselves for the MCCEE.

The SAEE costs $40 CDN. Payment must be made by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). The minimum Internet and system requirements for best results are:

Internet connection speed: 56 kb or faster
Software requirements: Internet Explorer 6 or higher, Netscape 7 or higher, or Firefox

The results of the SAEE are for your use only and the Medical Council of Canada will not store your results with your personal information. For more information, please visit the Medical Council of Canada Privacy Policy. It is important for participants to keep track of the examination forms they have already completed. No refunds will be issued for the selection of the wrong form.

People who take the SAEE will be allowed four hours across a seven day period to complete the examination. For results to be of the most use, however, it is suggested that the examination be completed within 2 1/2 hours. Upon completion, feedback will be e-mailed to participants consisting of the number of questions answered correctly and a comparison to other MCCEE participants.
