Withdrawing from the Evaluating Examination

If you no longer wish to take the examination, you can request a withdrawal and a partial refund up to 120 hours before the date and time of your scheduled examination appointment. See “Withdrawing your MCCEE application” below for more information.

If you cannot make it to your scheduled examination and the 120-hour withdrawal deadline has passed, see “Absence on the day of examination / late withdrawal” further below.

Withdrawing your MCCEE application

A partial refund* will be provided if your withdrawal request is received no later than 120 hours before the date and time of your scheduled examination appointment.

* The partial refund amount represents the examination fee paid less an administration fee of $207.00 CAD. The application fee is non refundable.

If you have already scheduled an examination appointment (date, time and center) with Prometric, you should first cancel your scheduled appointment with Prometric (no later than 120 hours before the date and time of your scheduled appointment), then submit a written withdrawal request to the MCC. For information on canceling your scheduled appointment with Prometric, please see “Changing or canceling a scheduled examination appointment” on the Evaluating Examination Scheduling page.

Note: If you still wish to take the examination and simply want to reschedule the date of your scheduled examination appointment rather than obtain a partial refund of the examination fee paid, you should not request a withdrawal of your application with the MCC. You should instead reschedule or cancel your examination appointment with Prometric. For more information, see “Changing or canceling a scheduled examination appointment” on the Evaluating Examination Scheduling page.

If you have not yet scheduled an examination appointment with Prometric, you can withdraw your application and obtain the partial refund at any time prior to 31 December four (4) full calendar years following the year of receipt of your examination fee payment at the MCC.

Absence on the day of the examination / late withdrawal

You will not be entitled to a refund of the examination fee paid, nor any portion thereof, if:

  • You attempt to cancel a scheduled examination appointment with Prometric less than 120 hours before the date and time of your scheduled examination appointment. (Prometric will not allow you to cancel a scheduled appointment once the 120-hour deadline has passed.)

OR

  • You submit a written withdrawal request to the MCC less than 120 hours before the date and time of your scheduled examination appointment and you did not cancel your scheduled appointment with Prometric before the 120-hour deadline.

OR

  • You are absent from the examination center on the date and time of your scheduled examination appointment.

Under exceptional circumstances, a portion of the funds on account may be transferred to a future sitting of the MCCEE when the reason for the absence is due to severe illness or pressing domestic circumstances (e.g., severe illness or hospitalization of an immediate family member or denial of a visa) and if accompanied by documented proof.

In order to be considered for a transfer of a portion of the examination fees paid, the MCC must be notified of the absence by the day of the examination (by telephone or fax, or through an MCC-Online communication) and original supporting documentation must be submitted to the MCC for consideration within two (2) weeks following the examination date.

If approved, you would be required to pay an administration fee of $207.00 CAD when re-applying for the MCCEE.
