Scheduling
When applying for the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination Part II (MCCQE Part II), candidates must indicate their preferred examination center(s), keeping in mind that the MCCQE Part II centers are not bilingual; the examination must be taken in English at an English center and in French at a French center.
Candidates are encouraged to provide three (3) examination center choices, in order of preference. While they may limit their choice to one (1) center, this does not improve their likelihood of being assigned to that center. Candidates increase their chances of being assigned to one of their preferred examination centers when they submit their complete application as early as possible.
The Medical Council of Canada will assign the candidate to a specific examination center while making every effort to accommodate the candidate’s choice of centers, as well as assign the candidate to a specific examination date (when the candidate’s assigned center is running two days) and time (AM or PM administration) within the examination session. An e-mail message will be sent to all accepted candidates once the examination centers have been assigned, which will advise how to view your assigned center, date and time through your MCC-Online account. Your Entrance Card, which will be mailed to you approximately six to seven weeks prior to the start of the examination session, will also contain this information.
Once a center has been assigned, a request for a center change for the spring 2010 session will be considered only if received by 26 March 2010.
Changing your assigned examination center or time
A request for a change to your examination center or time will be considered up to 26 March 2010 for the spring 2010 session. The written request must be accompanied by payment of the applicable $104.00 CAD change fee. The payment will be processed only if the requested change can be accommodated.
If the change is made, you will be required to return your Entrance Card before a new Entrance Card that reflects your change(s) is issued to you.
You cannot ‘change’ examination sessions. If you are assigned a center and time to take the examination in the spring 2010 session, and wish to delay taking the examination until the fall 2010 session or beyond, you will need to withdraw your application and re-apply when you wish to take the examination.
It should be noted that the opportunities for change are usually limited once the center assignment process has taken place.
