Medical Council of Canada documents

The MCC provides candidates with certain documents upon request and upon receipt of the appropriate fees.

For candidates who have already obtained their Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC), the following documents may be requested:

  • Replacement of the Testamur, which is suitable for display purposes.

  • Replacement of the Certificate of Registration, a wallet-size plastic card that indicates that the bearer is registered in the Canadian Medical Register.

  • Certified Confirmation Letter that includes the candidate’s name, date of birth, LMCC registration date and number, and the dates of his or her successful examinations. This document does not include scores but it can be used instead of the Statement of Registration when confirmation of scores is not required.

  • Statement of Registration, which is an official document certifying that the individual is registered in the Canadian Medical Register as a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada. This document includes the individual’s name, date of birth, LMCC registration date and number, dates and results/scores of successful examinations, and an explanation of how the results are tabulated.

  • Certified Copy of Result Letter that provides the candidate’s examination results. This document can be requested for all three examinations (MCCEE, MCCQE Part I and MCCQE Part II).

The candidate can also request to have his or her name changed on the Testamur and Certificate of Registration if the name has legally changed since the documents were issued.

For candidates who have not yet obtained their LMCC, the following documents may be requested:

  • Certified Transcript that includes the candidate’s name, date of birth, dates and results/scores of successful examinations, and a statement that the candidate is not yet registered as an LMCC and the reason why (for example, not yet having successfully completed the MCCQE Part II).

  • Certified Copy of Result Letter that provides the candidate’s examination results. This document can be requested for all three examinations (MCCEE, MCCQE Part I and MCCQE Part II).
