Notice to all MCCQE Part I candidates - new examination look
The MCC Qualifying Examination Part I has been upgraded with improvements to both the user interface as well as the internal functionality. While the examination remains the same, the delivery of the Part I Examination has been enhanced to provide candidates with functionality not previously available with the former software. Among the new features offered, candidates will now be able to highlight text as well as make notes online during the examination. The time management tool has been revamped rendering it more accurate. Further enhancements also include the capability to review clinical decision making cases in the afternoon session making it possible to view any case administered within a given session ( i.e., all cases presented to a candidate in the afternoon session will be available for review at any given time during that session.)
To help candidates become familiar with the new examination interface, the MCC has created demonstration videos for both the multiple-choice component and the clinical decision making component. They are offered in both French and English. Candidates are strongly encouraged to view these two videos prior to the examination to become familiar with the examination interface and functionality. Please be advised that each instructional video clip (MCQ and CDM) is roughly 20 minutes long for a total of approximately 40 minutes of viewing time. There will be no time available to view these videos on examination day.
