Since 1993, the Medical Council of Canada has funded research in the field of assessment of clinical performance or clinical competence. Grant applications are peer-reviewed and then a steering committee makes the final decision based upon the reviews and the declared funding priorities of the competition.
The Medical Council of Canada currently offers three different types of grants:
- Proposal Writing Assistance Initiative - deadline: 15 January 2009
- Fund for Research in Clinical Assessment - deadline: 1 February 2009
- Multi-year grant - deadline for the letter of intent: 1 February 2009
