MCCQE Part I scheduling through Prometric is now open with a remote proctoring option

May 25, 2020

We are pleased to inform you that scheduling for the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) Part I has now resumed for all candidates. MCCQE Part I appointments can be scheduled through Prometric at available test centres with recommended physical distancing measures in place, as per the guidelines set by local public health authorities and also through remote proctoring, a new delivery model for the Medical Council of Canada (MCC).

Offering both methods of delivery will ensure that we remain committed to the guidelines put forward by the Public Health Agency of Canada to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risks to candidates and those involved in our exams.

To meet the capacity demand, please note that the MCCQE Part I will be offered over an extended exam period, from June 1 to September 20, 2020. Also, please note that the next session of the exam is scheduled, from October 26 to November 8, 2020.

Scheduling will be available to you as soon as your application is accepted by the MCC and you have received a message through your physiciansapply.ca account that includes instructions on how to schedule your exam appointment with Prometric.

Please check the Prometric Site opening page before entering the scheduling system to confirm if a testing center is open in your area. Prior to logging into the system, gather all the information you will need to complete your scheduled appointment. As Prometric is re-instituting in-center testing at as many locations as possible, the list may change weekly, therefore we suggest checking back regularly if your preferred testing location isn’t currently available. Please retain your confirmation number and you will receive an appointment confirmation notice approximately seven days prior to your scheduled appointment.

To obtain information on Prometric’s remote assessment platform, please consult their ProProctor web page and user guide.

We thank you for your understanding and patience during these unprecedented times.
