What to do if you no longer want to take the TDM Examination.

How to withdraw your TDM Examination application

If you are certain you no longer want to take the Therapeutics Decision-Making (TDM) Examination, you may request to withdraw your application.

There are different steps to follow depending on whether you have already scheduled your TDM Examination appointment with Prometric.

If you have not scheduled your appointment with Prometric

If you have not scheduled your exam appointment, you can withdraw your TDM Examination application by sending a message in your physiciansapply.ca account with the subject line Withdrawal – Therapeutics Decision-Making Examination.

If you have already scheduled your appointment with Prometric

If you have already scheduled your exam appointment, you must first cancel your appointment directly with Prometric.

Learn about scheduling and canceling your exam

If you cancel more than 120 hours before your scheduled exam appointment, you must also send a message in your physiciansapply.ca account with the subject line Withdrawal – Therapeutics Decision-Making Examination.

If you cancel less than 120 hours before your scheduled exam appointment, you will not be able to withdraw your exam application and you will be marked as absent.

Refunds

When refunds are not offered

You will forfeit your full application fee if you:

  • Withdraw from your TDM Examination less than 120 hours before your exam appointment time
  • Cancel your exam appointment with Prometric less than 120 hours before your exam appointment time
  • Are absent for your exam

Eligibility for partial refunds

You will receive a partial refund only if:

  • You have not scheduled an appointment with Prometric and then you withdraw your TDM Examination application.
  • You cancel your scheduled appointment with Prometric more than 120 hours prior to your exam appointment time and then withdraw your TDM Examination application

Extenuating circumstances

If, due to extenuating circumstances, you need to cancel within 120 hours of your appointment or are absent for your appointment, you may be eligible for a partial refund.

To request a partial refund, send supporting documentation of these circumstances to the MCC ([email protected]) for review. These requests and documentation must be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than 15 days after your exam date.

If your partial refund request is approved, the TDM Examination application fee minus the examination withdrawal fee will be returned to the credit card used at the time of payment, otherwise a credit will be applied to your physiciansapply.ca account.

The MCC is not responsible for any costs, fees, penalties or losses that candidates may incur (e.g., relating to travel, childcare or wages).
